I miss the old CD Parties ;o(((((((( Haven't been able to participate in a
NAQP for quite some years; but I rember that it didn't seem to have the
charisma, or feel anything like the CD parties did. When the appropriate
issue of QST arrived, the first thing I looked for were the results of the
most recent CD Party. The rest of the rag...... ;o|
I see little difference between DC and counting 4U1ITU, 4U1UN or 4U1WB as
mults in ANY contest. None of the 4Us are really any kind of a "country" or
political entity; they're just a splotch of land with big buildings where
flags of hundreds of nations fly and their representatives congregate
without shooting one another down ;o)
Come to think of it, I wonder how an extradition takes place, should some
street bum rob the McD's down the street and then takes refuge inside the
NYC UN building, claiming "political asylum"? ;o|
And how come SV/A gets to be a separate entity? It's part of Greece, as
evidenced by the SV suffix.
Yeah, the above's straying off the beaten DC path; but I think it's an
illustrious point of how capricious some mults actually appear. Try
explaining why Mt. Athos is considered a "rare country" to yer naybore; and
in the next breath, mention that DC is NOT. I did that once to a new ham,
and the guy not only didn't believe me but thought it was ridiculous.
