and i bet you think that qrp entries should only use wire antennas also.
why should someone not do something that is legal under the rules to
help
improve their score? if it isn't illegal and you can do it then i say
go for
it! if that isn't what the contest sponsors want then let them write
the
rules so that it isn't legal.

Subject: CONTESTING IS FUN!

DO MANY OF YOU REALLY ENJOY CONTESTING? YOU COULDN'T TELL BY READING THIS
REFLECTOR.
I LIKE CONTESTING because it is enjoyable and competitive. It fosters
camaraderie among all levels of competitors. I meet a lot of great people
(a little weird maybe) from the 100 Q's in a test to the GODS of the sport
- and they are all interesting and share their expertise. I've been
contesting for thirty years and rarely show up in the top ten of any
contest, but it isn't because I haven't tried. The most competitive item
is the operator. Equipment and antenna's are what can be afforded or
permitted in a location. Rules were, and are, still being made by contest
sponsors who are hams. When they start being promulgated by lawyers, then
we can join the rest of the great litigious society in the courts instead
of cruising the ether.
In all three aspects; operators, equipment and rules, competitive people
push the envelope to the extreme.
THAT'S WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT! COMPETE - COMPETE - COMPETE !!!! Compete
with yourself, your club, country or world, BUT compete.
KWITCHERBELLIAKIN!
Have fun! JACK N2VW (VP5O,VP5N,VP5R,VP5T,P40T, /PJ2, ETC)
