I find it really, really surprising to hear all you guys talk about women
not having a competitive spirit! I do not find this to be true in my own
experience.
I tend to be self-competitive more than competitive against others (which
is not to say I don't feel satisfaction seeing I have beaten competitors I
felt were above my level...). Self-competition is more challenging in the
long run because one can always do better, even if you are in the top spot.
Sure would be nice to hear some other YL voices address this question! I
know it's important for people to discuss topics, like adults discussing
how to get more youth in contesting but it would be nice to hear from other
YL contesters! It's a bit odd reading men discuss women's absence when you
are a woman...kind of like reading Freud.
