I just got done massaging the list of logs received for the 2004
ARRL 10m contest into a spreadsheet, as I was curious how well I
might have done (looks like another year with a box score - higher
than last, but sadly not #1 for my continent).

In order to do this, I was amazed at just what N1ND & Co have to
deal with, as well as K9TM & K8CC I think it is when it comes to
doing the checking.

And this is a contest where the Cabrillo spec is complete & has
been for quite a while. Just in terms of categories, it is messy.
There is only one multi-op category, though it is understandable
how folks might end up with their entry being further narrowed to
HIGH & CW-only or something like that (TRlog can do this to
you). But there are enough HIGH PHONE, LOW PHONE & QRP
PHONE entries to suggest there might be a somewhat popular
logging program out there that was written without too good a look
at the spec first.

That someone can get it past a robot, or if your logging software
does it that way, or if it is written in a contest's rules, or works fine
with whatever log checking software being used by the sponsor really
doesn't mean a thing - if it cannot be found at
http://www.kkn.net/~trey/cabrillo then it is not Cabrillo.
