I was told Wayne N7NG said that ARRL is focused on DXpedition logs - not on
contest logs.

Besides it is a FACT that all of the WRTC stations logs are on LOTW and the
logs are public on WRTC site. You can go to ARRL LOTW site and credit those
QSOs for the DXCC program.

I think CQWW open log policy will be one of the most important rule making
decision, as far as:
          log scrutinizing is concerned and
the development of the quality of the game

CQWW has the best log checking procedures available today. But now would be
cheaters will have to worry not only with CQ log checking procedures but
also with their peers....If I would like to cheat with packet and NOT claim
Assisted, I'm sure I will think twice now knowing my competitors will browse
every line of my log and alert for possible miss conduct.

Also I remember in the early days of my contesting activities going through
record breaking logs was one of the most important aspects to develop my
skills. I think it is great, contest logs are available! Would be #1s will
have lots of material to improve their performances and the #1's will have
to come up with more things to keep their edge.

The contesting game can only go better!

Does this mean that *all* CQWW contest QSOs from top stations will no
longer be valid for
DXCC credit?

>*From DXCC rules, Section III, sub 5:*
"5. The presentation in any public forum of logs or other representations
of station operation showing details of station activity or other
information from which all essential QSO elements (time, date, band, mode
and callsign) for individual contacts can be derived creates a question as
to the integrity of the claimed QSOs with that station during the period
encompassed by the log. Presentation of such information in any public
forum by the station operator, operators or associated parties is not
allowed and may be considered sufficient reason to deny ARRL award credit
for contacts with any station for which such presentations have been made.
Persistent violation of this provision may result in disqualification from
the DXCC program."
