JE3MAS's PED *currently* works only on Sound Blaster Deluxe/Pro/16ASP
and PAS16.
Not so many external CD-ROM drives are available. Most *combo* (sound
board + cd-rom drive) are only for internal one. Texel and Toshiba
are selling external drives but they are $300~400 range.
Don't you have extra drive bay in your computer? If you have, Mitsumi
CD-ROM LS-005 will be the good choice. It is rather cheap with original
I/F card and can play audio cd with stereo sound. This drive supports
MS multi-media, so you can read the photo-cd etc. I purchased it from
Ca. US $189. I'm satisfied with it.
Does anyone know how to set the sound board which announces "SB compatible"
to *compatible mode*? Mas III wishes to know it. If he gets this info
the PED will work on all *SB compatible* boards.
