Thought I'd try the 432 Sprint from our newly equipped club station. Problem
is: I've
never operated 432 SSB/CW. (Everyone has to have a first time :-)) Can some
afficionado
enlighten me, please?
What frequencies should I look for contacts? ie 432.000 - 432.125 ?
Is there a 432 calling frequency?
Should I expect any CW activity?
Anything else I need to know?
Thanks

I wonder if anyone spoke with Bob Heil at Dayton re the headphone/Yaesu
audio problem?

I just got my Proset-4 back from Heil - they supposedly installed new
low impedance speakers and repaired an intermittent mic audio problem
in the boom swivel. I have NOT yet tried it out on my own FT-1000D
(will do that next week - my rig is at W7RM's QTH) - however, I DID
test it out at W7LXR's QTH on his FT-1000D. He also has a Proset-4
with the same audio problem. Regrettably, I could tell no significant
difference in the audio levels in the two headsets. Me thinks the
problem is NOT yet fixed.
I'll report again after testing it out on my own rig - IF there is
some noticeable difference.

Oops, sorry, Bruce. Yes. Kudos to the Society of Midwest Contesters. I kinda
erroneously grouped them into the Sultans of Shwing (or is that vice versa?).
Anyway, I'll take my foot out of my mouth now. c u all next year!

I spoke briefly with someone from Heil, not Bob. He gave me a couple page
summary of the audio problems/solutions and asked to post it to Internet.
It's at home and I haven't read it yet. If it contains worthwhile
information, I'll scan it in.
