Hi Bob

But, it just seems silly to have SOHP, SOLP, SOHP(A), MS/HP, but no catagory
for SOLP(A).

What could be the logical reasoning for not having an (A) for low power,
other than 'If you don't like it, don't play.'

There is no classification for MS/LP either. So if a SOLP station uses
assistance, they are either included with the SOHP, or MS/HP.

I don't have an amp here that will do 160 so guess I can operate SOLP (no
assistance), cheat, or don't play.

That's fair! 73

Each contest has its own rules. Do you expect all contests to be the same?
Why?

Which contest are you talking about when you say "a contest's rules say
nothing about Assisted operation"?

Both of the contests you then cite, explicitly address this issue, so it's
not clear to me what you're getting at.

1) ARRL RTTY Roundup: "Single Operator entrants may not use any form of
spotting assistance".
2) CQ WPX RTTY: "Use of QSO alerting assistance is permitted in
all categories".

It seems these two that you mention are pretty definitive although quite
different.
