Topic: Propagation Research....

There are reasons we in South East Asia can not receive as well as we are
heard. The electromagnetic or magnetic equator is situated over SEA,
centered most times at 9 degrees latitude. The band is about 10-20 degrees
wide, placing it well overhead my QTH West of Bangkok. SEA even has a
scientific "SEA Anomaly" that posits its extra difference over me.

K3ZO and his partners have had a 20m chat group meeting for about 25
years--between Thailand and Maryland, USA. The group has consistent
observation that the SEA signals are heard better than they hear (average
1-2 S units difference).

After a decade of operating near Bangkok, I confirm the general observation
on paths to NA and EU. There is some Internet research on this topic
confirming our observations. The band of odd ionization extends around the
Earth, affecting southern-most India (Tamil Nadu claiming the center of the
anomaly and maybe the universe), northern Africa, and Central America.

So, if you contesters wonder why you are so poorly heard in these areas,
here is a partial answer.

Charly, HS0ZCW
