Reflector messages bearing only someone’s callsign as a title are usually bad
news, so I feared the worst when I saw Bob Cox’s posting about W3ZZ just now.
I first met Gene in about 1972 at a meeting of the original Murphy’s Marauders
somewhere up in Connecticut. A nicer, and smarter, ham has rarely crossed my
path. Gene and I also had the same college radio station in our past, but were
spaced far enough apart in years that we never met there.... I don’t know how
old Gene actually was, but somehow I don’t feel that much younger right now.
As Bob said, rest in peace, old friend, rest in peace.
