I agree with you Doug, but the ethical question he is asking is "who
did I work, the station or the operator?".

Most of us would answer "the station", but on the other hand, many of
us think of ourselves as our callsign. How often have you introduced
yourself as "Hi, I'm Doug, KR2Q"?  He is asking "Did I work the other
station or did I work Doug, KR2Q?".

I am NOT advocating anything, just trying to answer your question on
ethics.
