Scott,
CT is now at version 9.84 or so.
I would suggest downloading the latest version from www.k1ea.com
Also, the keep getting an out of band error can usually be solved by typing in
a frequency on the callsign field to trick CT into thinking you are on 160m or
10m by typing 1830 and hitting Enter or 28500 and hitting enter respectively.
Upgrading is probably your best bet though.
