I would hold NO hope that Cisco will be willing to share their firmware so
we can put TC on it

um, no. We typically have to use a larger amount of power than Orinoco cards
because we are in a hilly and forested area. If i used orinoco, i would have
to amp every install, just about. With a Cisco PCI card, or a LMC card in a
SBC with a router OS, I can get through our trees and keep a good power
level. Even then, we have to use rohn H50 poles on just about everyone.
Hell, we sometimes have to use a H50 with a 10' extension to get some! If I
could use the piddly power of Orinoco, i would, but i hate to amp, so need
better cards. Demark Reliawave 180mw cards seem to fit the bill, not as easy
to install as a Cisco but it is 80mw more powerful, good for the harder
links.
I would love to see a TC client for the cisco AIR-LMC352 card...! 20dbm TX
/-95dbm RX
Orinoco is (actual with our SA) 13dbm and needs -80dbm Rx to run well. Not a
good thing for around here.
We are at least blessed with very low noise around here... them trees are
good for something! :)
The Cisco AIR-PCI32 dosent suck inside of a coumputer too, it uses 1 IRQ and
1 Driver for the PCI holder AND the LMC352 card, making install easy. the PC
card holder is transparent to the OS, no driver for it at all! The jack is
also built to take antenna cables, unlike that Orinoco cable that i break
every other time i remove it or re-insert it!
ok, so im not an orinoxo fan... :)
and no, i dont feel like buying a bunch of RG1000s just to pluck the card
and replace it with a new one, well i would, but i will be getting you
Orinoco fans to take them off my hands!

PC Cards inside of computers SUCKS period!!!
Buy an RG1100 and all your worries go away!!!
RG's rule as long as you can get them.... ;-)
Outdoor mount radios and ethernet connections are cheaper in the long
run....
