Keith, WA3HAE, has brought to our attention a bug in NA when printing
the logs for the CQ WPX contest. Any QSO with odd (i.e., not even)
QSO points will be shown as "ON/OFF" in the time on/time off column.
Actual times on/off are not marked correctly. However, off times
shown on the computer screen and on the summary sheet *ARE* correct.
This bug cropped up after doing the work to support the W1BB contest.
NA versions 10.14 thru 10.17 have this bug. If a version older than
10.14 is available, it can be used to print the log correctly. We
have confirmed that 10.13 works correctly.
Version 10.18 has this bug corrected and is in final testing before
being loaded to the LTA BBS by early next week. Users with WPX logs
who would prefer not to wait or don't plan to download 10.18 can send
an e-mail to DATOM@contesting.com and we'll reply with 10.13 as an
attachment.
Version 10.18 will also have some cool things relevent for the VHF
contesting, what with the June VHF QSO Party right around the corner.
A new feature "QSOS WITH DISPLAY" shows all QSOs with a particular
callsign which will be useful for managing contacts with rovers
(remember to turn on "QTH MUST MATCH FOR DUPE"). In addition, SET
SCHEDULES (alt-E) is now a full screen display where up to 38
schedules can be easily edited or deleted. The SCHEDULES window now
shows schedules starting with the next upcoming schedule based on the
current time, rather than starting with 0000. Finally, a bug was
corrected in that the DOS time offset from CONFIG was not applied when
checking for schedules to alert. If your computer's clock was GMT,
things worked fine, but if you had the clock on local time and
adjusted NA time in CONFIG, it did not work right.
One correction from the earlier posting about the LTA BBS as the
source for Contest Rule Template files - the LTA BBS phone number is
(412) 528-8877 (the area code was wrong).
Big progress has been made on the DATOM Web Page. Come check it out
at www.contesting.com/DATOM by the middle of next week.
