John, WB3ESS made the following observations about NA 10.06:
- Auto partial (autocheck) must be enabled for this problem to appear. Once
the Partial call window appears it prevents ALT-O from placing
the packet window on top. When this is fixed Alt-T, PageUp/PageDn
operation should also be checked. Alt-H does overwrite the Partial
call window cprrectly. After trying Alt-H,Alt-O, Alt-T, PageUp, and
PageDn for awhile, the program gets into a mode where hitting F8
brings up the help window instead of the Partial call window!
K8CC: This problem has never been reported before. What we have
occasionally seen during the multi-ops at K8CC (all the way back
into NA9) is that the Partial Call Window pops open without closing
the Packet Window. When this happens, we've never been able to
determine the sequence of keys that created this scenario. Any
specific help in this area would be very valuable in determining a
solution.
- If the radio is enabled but turned off (or cable disconnected),
ALT-F1/ALT-F2 doesn't change program bands.
K8CC: Its supposed to work this way. Go into the Equipment Control Panel and
run the radio off.
- If the dx cluster is requested to list packet spots, all spots are
duplicated in the Announce window even if they are identical.
K8CC: Allllright, I admit it works this way, no its not desirable, yes it will
be fixed. In a related subject, the announcements are sorted in time order,
not the order in which they came in. I've had some complaints on this,
particularly when late-arriving spots (from many nodes away) wind up on the
top. I'm considering removing the sort - let the spots appear in the order
they arrived. Any comments?
Has anyone verified that the band map display works as intended? So
far I haven't seen any packet spots appear in the Band map display
just the announce window.
K8CC: We've been using Band Map for two years at K8CC, and yes it
does work as intended. Keep in mind that spots have to be less
30 minutes old to make the map.
