A friend and I spent 4 hours on Sunday trying to get a diferent-but-similar
contest logging program networked to four laptops using the loop network
from the NA manual (I'm a happy dedicated NA user). Finally got it going,
but there was a huge delay to/from one new Dell laptop running a newish
version of Windows that apparently has no traditional version of DOS.
Used computer stores usually have excellent laptops/desktops for logging
for only a few hunderd dollars, even with color, soundcards, etc.
Why beat yourself over the head trying to get the new machines to work?
I've been stocking up on the cheapies before they're all gone :-)
BTW, the network info in the NA manual is clear and understandable, while
the info in the "other" manual was scattered throughout the book.
Any 'problem' I've had with NA over the years has ultimately been my
'fault', and Dave's help and support has been outstanding.
