Ulrich I am not familiar with the Pilot-USA headset however I do use the David
Clark. I have a stereo earphone set (10S-DC) for the Orion and a full headset
(with Mic H-10-30) for my Argo V. Both sets of earphones are 60+ ohms
impedance and match the Orion well. I love the earphones! HOWEVER, the
microphone is designed for operation in an aircraft and is "noise canceling".
Reports on the air were not good.
I replaced the David Clark element with a small electret element and it was
vastly improved. Another advantage in the David Clark sets is the availability
of parts. Even out here in Western Canada on an island parts (I have ordered
replacement gel cushions) are available in just a few days.
In summary I would recommend aircraft style earphones BUT, in general, I would
be VERY careful about using aircraft designed microphones for amateur radio
communications.

Hello,
I consider to purchase a PA-1161T headset from PILOT USA.
Did someone already used this headset together with an ORION? Any
comments and hints are welcome... Something to care about when
integrating it into an ORION setup?
