Good news!!! A new sunspot group #10983 formed and was numbered on February
25, 2008. At 1650 UTC it was located at S05 W36 with a beta magnetic
signature. The SWPC sunspot number (SSN) is now 12. Prior to this SSN count
we went 20 consecutive days without any.
Bad news!!! Unfortunately though between it's low latitude and magnetic
polarity it's a lowly solar cycle 23 sunspot group.
