Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2019 May 18 1230 UTC.
Solar Activity
24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. Region 2741 (N05W77, Hax/alpha) was stable and inactive. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available satellite imagery.
Forecast: Solar activity is expected to remain very low on 18-20 May.
Energetic Particles
24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached moderate levels. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux were at background levels.
Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to be at moderate to high levels on 18-20 May. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to continue at background levels.
Solar Wind
24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters, as measured by the DSCOVR spacecraft, reflected slight enhanced conditions. Total magnetic field strength was between 4-7 nT. Bz reached a maximum southward deflection of -5 nT at 18/0715 UTC but was mostly near neutral or northward during the reporting period. Solar wind speeds ranged from 375-450 km/s, ending the period near 400 km/s. Phi angle was variable.
Forecast: Near-background solar wind conditions are expected on 18-19 May. A weak enhancement associated with a recurrent, negative polarity CH HSS is anticipated on 20 May.
Geospace
24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet.
Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be mostly quiet on days one and two (18-19 May). Quiet to unsettled levels are expected on day three (20 May) due to the anticipated arrival of a recurrent, negative polarity CH HSS.
