Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2020 Jan 27 1230 UTC.
Solar Activity
24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. Region 2757 (N05W08, Cso/beta) was stable throughout the period and remained quiet.
A slow-moving, possibly Earth-directed, CME was observed in STEREO-A imagery at 25/1754 UTC off the west limb. Analysis of this CME, for a possible Earth-directed component, is not possible at this time due to a lack of available C1/C2 coronagraph data.
Forecast: Solar activity is expected to continue at very low levels, with a slight chance for C-class activity, on 27-29 Jan.
Energetic Particle
24 hr Summary: Both the greater than 2 MeV electrons and 10 MeV protons remained below event thresholds this period.
Forecast: Both the greater than 2 MeV electrons and 10 MeV protons are expected to remain below event thresholds on 27-29 Jan.
Solar Wind
24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters were at background levels this period under a nominal solar wind regime.
Forecast: A slight enhancement in solar wind speed and density is anticipated on 29 Jan due to the influence of a negative polarity CH HSS.
Geospace
24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet throughout the period under a nominal solar wind regime.
Forecast: Generally quiet conditions are expected to prevail on 27-28 Jan. The influence of a negative polarity CH HSS is expected to cause periods of unsettled activity on 29 Jan.
