Solar Activity
24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. An area of emerging flux was observed near N20W47. No sunspots or Earth-directed CMEs were observed.
Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be at very low levels on 14-16 Sep.
Energetic Particles
24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels with a peak flux of 1,730 pfu observed at 13/2155 UTC. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was steady at background levels.
Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to reach moderate levels on 14-16 Sep. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to persist at background levels throughout the forecast period.
Solar Wind
24 hr Summary: The solar wind environment reflected a mostly nominal environment throughout the period. Total magnetic field strength was generally at or below 7 nT with a peak of 10 nT observed at about 14/0000 UTC. The Bz component varied between +/-5 nT with a few excursions to -8 nT at about 14/0000 UTC. Solar wind speeds meandered between about 310-350 km/s with a brief spike to 410 km/s late in the period. The phi angle was in a mostly positive solar sector through about 13/1945 UTC when it rotated to a negative orientation through the end of the period.
Forecast: Solar wind parameters are expected to persist at predominately background levels throughout the forecast period (14-16 Sep).
Geospace
24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was at quiet to unsettled levels.
Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to remain at mostly quiet to unsettled levels throughout the forecast period (14-16 Sep).
