Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2021 Jan 26 1230 UTC.
Solar Activity
24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. Region 2799 (N23W76, Bxo/beta) was in decay. Region 2797 (S17W36, Axx/alpha) was stable and quiet. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed.
Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be at very low levels on 26-28 Jan.
Energetic Particle
24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at normal to moderate levels and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background values.
Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to continue at normal to moderate levels on 26-28 Jan. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to remain at background levels.
Solar Wind
24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters continued under the influence of a negative polarity CH HSS. Total field reached a maximum of 11 nT while the Bz component was between +7/-10 nT. Solar wind speed increased to a maximum of 626 km/s at 26/0306 UTC before slowly decreasing to end of period values near 540 km/s. Phi angle was predominantly oriented in a negative (towards) solar sector.
Forecast: CH HSS effects are expected to slowly diminish on 26-27 Jan. Nominal solar wind conditions are expected to return by 28 Jan.
Geospace
24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was at quiet to G1 (Minor) storm levels due to CH HSS effects.
Forecast: Quiet to unsettled levels are expected on 26-27 Jan as HSS effects diminish. Mostly quiet conditions are expected on 28 Jan.
