Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2021 Mar 27 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. Region 2811 (N20W14, Bxo/beta) was stable and quiet. Region 2812 (N21E08, Hax/alpha) produced a low level B-class flare but remained unremarkable. The CME mentioned in the previous discussion product that was observed in SOHO/LASCO C2 imagery starting at around 26/1124 UTC was determined to be a far-sided event. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be very low, with a slight chance for a C-class flare, on 27-29 Mar.

Energetic Particles

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained at background levels.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to reach high levels on 27 Mar and return to moderate levels on 28-29 Mar. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to persist at background levels throughout the forecast period.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters, as measured by the DSCOVR spacecraft, reflected nominal conditions. Total magnetic field strength was at or below 7 nT. Bz was predominantly south, reaching as low as -4 nT. Solar wind speed decreased from ~420 km/s to ~350 km/s by the periods end. Phi was negative.

Forecast: Solar wind parameters are expected to persist at nominal levels for the majority of 27 Mar. Late on 27 Mar to early on 28 Mar, solar wind parameters are expected to become enhanced as a CIR followed by a negative polarity CH HSS is expected to become geoeffective.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to transition from mostly quiet to active levels late on 27 Mar, due to the anticipated onset of a CIR followed by a negative polarity CH HSS. Conditions are expected to reach up to G1 (Minor) geomagnetic storm levels over 28-29 Mar as effects from the CH HSS persist.
