Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2021 Dec 07 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was at very low levels. Region 2904 (S26E23, Bxo/beta) saw consolidation followed by slight decay in its southern grouping of spots, but was otherwise unremarkable. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be very low through 09 Dec.

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels with a maximum value of 2,150 pfu at 06/1705 UTC. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux maintained background levels.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to be at moderate to high levels on 07-08 Dec, then normal to moderate levels by 09 Dec. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to continue at background levels.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: The solar wind environment was still enhanced with persistent HSS conditions. Solar wind speed averaged near 500 km/s. Total field ranged from 3-7 nT while the Bz component only underwent a few minor negative (southward) deviations in excess of 5 nT. The phi angle was mostly positive.

Forecast: Solar wind parameters are expected to return to more nominal levels by 08 Dec as HSS conditions decrease further.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet to unsettled.

Forecast: Isolated unsettled periods are expected on 07 Dec with lingering HSS activity. A return to mostly quiet levels is expected on 08 Dec.
