# FAST WARNING 'PRESTO' MESSAGE from the SIDC (RWC-Belgiu #
#--------------------------------------------------------------------#
NOAA 767 has finally decided to become a true _active_ region. Flaring
activity has increased sharply since yesterday noon. The biggest event
was a C8.6 flare peaking yesterday at 21h39. More flaring (up till
M-class) is certainly possible. CACTus detected an (unrelated) halo CME
in the C2 field of view from May 26, around 15h00 onwards, most clearly
seen in SW-direction. A projected speed of just above 500 km/s was
measured. The latest EIT304 movie shows a spectacular filament eruption
corresponding to this event from as early as 07h19. This halo CME can
influence the geomagnetic activity towards the end of the weekend. It
might thus strengthen an upcoming episode of enhanced geomagnetic
activity already expected from a recurrent coronal hole.
