: However a common problem in various modern devices can be the power : supply. The old transformer designed power supplies didn't appear to be : a problem very often. And, something to keep in mind... The newer switching mode power supplies that usually cause most of the grief can be replaced with a 60 Hz tranformer based supply from a thrift shop for 25-50 cents.
