I have also had both the ANC and the MFJ and kept the MFJ, better in all 
respects. From what I understand the DX Engineering NCC-1 is way better but at 
$600 it should be.

I found the main thing with the noise antenna - to get rid of noise, not create 
a directional system - is that the noise antenna should pick up the noise at 
least as well as the main antenna. This is true for any design I tried. It need 
not be identical to the main antenna.
