A few years ago my neighbor next door said I was bothering his TV and the kids
couldn't watch their favorite program on the PBS station channel 2, it was
while I operated on ten meters. I could see his antenna had a broken element
so one day at a yard sale I spotted a really nice looking tv antenna for five
bucks, looked almost brand new so I bought it and got the neighbor out one
weekend to replace the old antenna. We got up on the roof and I noticed it had
twin lead for feed line, the 300 ohm stuff and it was in bad shape, so I said
lets get rid of that stuff, I have some RG59 coax. We got the coax up on the
antenna then we had to route it into the attic, what we found in the attic was
whoever had the house before spliced in the 300 ohm to coax, just twisted the
wires together. Bottom line when all was corrected and finished, no more TVI.
