Ferrites are useless on the lower HF bands unless you wind a LOT of
turns through them. For 160M, I would START with at least 24 turns on
anything connected to a phone line, DSL or even POTS, and I wouldn't be
surprised if more turns (or more cores) would be needed. AND you would
likely need a choke like that on any other wires connected to the modem.
W2RU just went through a very serious RFI to DSL issue at his QTH. It
took lots of chokes PLUS serious shielding of the modem.
