It's either a poor connection or some one has wired their antenna direct
to the set along with the cable without an AB switch. If you operate on
the calling frequency for a while and the leak is local some one is
bound to complain, particularly on the History Channel. Must still be
running analog in that area.
Their channel line up varies with time and company. Switch to 145.25
and they'll probably be a lot stronger. Not the same channel though.
BTW Normally if you can hear them they can hear you. I did a
demonstration some years back (not in this town) where I was hearing
lots of places in the town where I was living at the time. I went into
the cable office and head end. Explained the many leaks around town and
that if they were getting out mobiles would be getting in. They couldn't
believe it so... I demonstrated in the office with low power, then 5W,
then went out to the car and fired up 50W. They came flying out of the
office waving their arms to stop. I explained there were many hams with
50 W mobiles around town and that happened every time one drove by or
under one of those leaks. I had proven to them that I could wipe out
the entire cable service for the entire town with a 5W HT and that a 50
W mobile was a disaster for them. The next day the bad leaks were
already cleaned up. In two days I couldn't find a leak and they wanted
to know as soon as any of us ran across one in the future.
Every once in a while I switch to 145.25 to check for leaks.
Good Luck. es 73
