I've just recently discovered the source of heavy interference on 75m.
It happens to be the neighbor's tv which throws out an S9 spur every
15-16 kHz down the band. One of these spurs happens to be zeroed on the
net frequency of the WPAPTN of which I am net manager. Timewave filters
on my receivers have been of some help, but when signal/noise ratios are
unfavorable, reception at times, can be extremely difficult especially
in the summer. The neighbor and I are the only subscribers connected to
a particular cable transformer. The cable company was of great
assistance in helping me track down this noise source but they can't
tell my neighbor to disconnect from the cable system, nor can I afford
to replace her six-year old tv set. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.....Kent
