It's amazing that the city was still making any money on the service.
If the general public knew you could get it for free why would you
bother to pay for it? At $35 a month that would be over $400 a year.
I dealt with a leaky cable system at my old QTH in TX. Didn't leak good
enough to get a picture over the air. Even connected up to the cable I
would get a poor picture when it rained and the cable went out more than
the power ever did. Running the packet cluster at my place certainly
did mess up Ch 18 (Disney) but I think everyone was so used to the
crappy service that no one ever complained.
