I totally agree with Rob. If the cell network went away, we (my wife and
I) would not miss anything. For one, we have no cell service at home in
the foothill of the Rocky Mountains. We don't miss it. We own a
smartphone but it is used only for traveling, and sparsely at that. As I
write it's sitting to my left OFF and useless. So what?!
When Estes Park had the big flood a few years ago, they were cut off from
the world. Yes, once again, the cell network ceased -
completely....dead......useless. Once again, amateur radio was the only
comm. they had with the outside world.
My wife and I are thankful we do not have cell service at home. We don't
miss it at all.
