I have had no RFI issues with my Carrier Infinity system. I thought I had a
problem yesterday (turned out to be an old circuit breaker in the house) but I
had removed the corner cover on the outdoor unit to check incoming voltage. I
was amazed at the number of toroids, large and small on various leads to the
system circuit boards. That explains it and shows that some manufacturers are
concerned about RFI. Admittedly it is also in their best interests for their
systems not to be affected by stray RF. It might be useful if you’re
considering a new HVAC system to “look under the hood” to see if that brand
and model is also taking RFI seriously.
