The nicest thing I have found about the RTTY Roundup over the years is
that it is not always a dog-eat-dog world.
For this year, I remember VP9/WW3S, KF7P and KK5OQ going into keyboard
mode to send a moderately long message which I then went into keyboard
mode to respond to.
Others like AA5AU sent a shorter personalized message, so I didn't
interrupt their flow. (I always feel guilty interrupting Don from his
constant record breaking :-)
I have always viewed the Roundup as a once a year chance to find all
the familiar callsigns again. You can never tell if they are no
longer there the next year. Hams are older than the general
population, RTTY hams are even older. Even during this Roundup, I
expected to print a CQ from W2JGR.
