You are correct. Once you were in his stack he was expecting you in that channel. You might have been covered in the new channel as I have noticed the some continue to call and call and call regardless.

I saw this a lot at J6/W0MU. I had to constantly search the streams to find the person that moved.

The key is if he does not CQ then don't move until he does because you could be in his stack.

There were some issues on whether I actually had good contacts. Which I did but the sequencing was not good so I was unsure. Dennis and I conversed over emails a bit while he was operating. He wondered why I kept calling when he thought we had a good contact.

I will be going to W100AW on Thursday May 8 and will be using
exclusively RTTY
for my operating this time. Hours of operation are 1500-1600UTC, and again from 1700-1945 UTC. I will be on the highest open bands, and will alternate
beaming Europe and USA.

This will be my first attempt at using a multi-channel decoder to
receive stations;
in an attempt not to use more spectrum than necessary, I will be
receiving "Up 1-4"
to try and improve the rate. The multi-channel decoder has been adjusted to
receive at 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, and 3 KHz above my transmit frequency, so
centering
your calling on one of those frequencies will probably enhance your
chances of
getting through quickly. I may also find that those five frequencies
are a wide
enough split to get 5 different stations on each CQ, so I may also have
to adjust
it down to 3 or 4, but I won't know until I've tried it. In any case,
when I give
the "UP" information tomorrow, please adjust your transmissions accordingly.

Don't ask for details on how I'm doing the multi-channel decoding just
yet; I'm
figuring its going to need some fine tuning and maybe a few changes before I'm done. I'm also hoping to take what I learn tomorrow on my DXpedition
to HR9 the end of this month.

Hi Dennis,

I think I may have found a problem with this sort of operation. I was calling you on 20 and you came back to me at 1850Z. I gave you your report and you came back and gave me my report a second time. I gave you your report a second time and you went on to the next station. We have both uploaded to LoTW but I don't have a match.

In retrospect, here's what I think happened: I was calling you on one frequency and you came back to someone on a different frequency. I moved to that frequency, but then you came back to me before I called again. I think you were listening for me on the frequency where I had been before your previous QSO, but I had moved and you didn't find me. I'm probably not the only one who experienced this.

I would like to work W100AW on RTTY. When do you plan to operate RTTY with this callsign next? Thanks!

73,

John, K9MM
