The first of the new series of RSGB Sprint contests starts
this week, with the CW Sprint on 80m on Thursday 14th Aug
from 19:00 - 20:30 UTC.

SD supports the RSGB 80m Sprints. It is free from
www.ei5di.com - select the "RSGB 80m Sprint" template.

Work everyone - exchange Serial + Name - no RST.

You should enter these as a single field. For example,
SD expands 3FRED to 003 FRED in their respective fields.

With ESM (Enter Sends Message) enabled, SD sends your
CW exchanges in the recommended format, and the ESM mode
toggles between RUN and S&P as QSOs are logged. Change
the mode with ` (below the Esc key) when necessary, and
you can toggle ESM itself with ' (apostrophe).

You are required to move at least 2 kHz after a QSO where
another station called you - and at least 5 kHz if you
want to call CQ rather than call another station directly.

SD V14.09, released this morning, makes it easier to do
this.

With rig-control and ESM (Enter Sends Message) enabled,
SD colour-codes the frequency display to let you know
your calling status at all times. ESM is relevant
because it knows the status (RUN or S&P) of your previous
QSO, and that determines whether you QSY or stay on
frequency.

When the frequency is shown in red, you must keep moving.
When it is in the "normal" colour, you may call other
stations (QSY over 2 kHz). When the normal colour display
is followed by #, you may call CQ (QSY over 5 kHz).

If you do not use ESM, the frequency remains in red even
though you keep the frequency after a QSO where you
called the other station - sorry, can't control that :-)

An abbreviated version of the frequency of your previous
QSO is shown for reference.

Send your Cabrillo log, from SDCHECK, as an attached
file to cwsprint.logs@rsgbhfcc.org.

Please mention SD in your log.

73,
Paul EI5DI
