The UBA CW Contest takes place from 1300 UTC on Saturday 25th February
to 1259 UTC Sunday 25th February.
Rules at www.uba.be/hf_contests/rules/ubatestworld_en.html
You should use SDU, not SD, for this contest. V12.12, released
22nd February, has had significant updates. It runs on any
Windows PC and is free from www.ei5di.com/sd/sdusetup.exe
The UBA organising committee recommends SDU - "We strongly encourage
participants to use a freeware log software as SDU from EI5DI... "
ON entrants - select SDU Type 1
DX entrants (outside ON) - select SDU Type 2
This is a CW-only event on the 5 contest bands from 80m to 10m.
QSOs with Belgian stations score 10 points,
with EU Member State stations 3 points
other stations 1 point
Work everyone, and exchange 5NN and Serial. ON stations will also
give their province abbreviation. SDU lets you log serial and
province in a single field. For example 3WV (enter) will be
expanded to 003 WV in their respective fields.
Multipliers are Belgian provinces, Belgian prefixes, and DXCC
countries in the European Union. For 2006, this includes several
DXCC entities which are not in Europe, including EA8 (an integral
part of Spain), and FM and FR (integral parts of France). If you
use any other logger, you might miss a few multipliers.
A single QSO with a Belgian station may count as two multipliers,
both prefix and province.
After the contest, use SDCHECK Option 1 to create your .LOG file
in Cabrillo format. Rename it to YOURCALL.CBR and email it, as
an attached file, to ubacw@uba.be.
73,
Paul EI5DI
