The CQIR Contest (RDXC) takes place from 12:00
Saturday 17th March to 11:59 UTC Sunday 18th March.
CQIR celebrates the 80th Anniversary of the founding
or IRTS, and it runs in parallel with the Russian DX
Contest (RDXC).
There are CW, SSB and Mixed options on the 5 contest
bands from 80m to 10m.
Rules at http://www.irts.ie/cgi/showrules.cgi?cqir/
SD V15.59 supports CQIR - www.ei5di.com. It is
fully working and unrestricted for all entrants in
CQIR - no registration or key file is needed.
Select the "CQIR" template.
Work everyone. There are two entry categories,
Irish and World. You are Irish if you operate
from Ireland (EI/GI), if you are of Irish descent,
or if you just want to be "Irish" for the day
(St. Patrick's Day). All others are World
entrants.
Irish stations send a Serial + 3-character county
code - their geographic county for EI/GI entrants.
Other Irish entrants may choose any single county.
Mults are Irish counties, by band and mode. If you
have a choice, pick a "rare" county.
World stations send a Serial.
Russian stations (in RDXC) will send a 2-character
oblast code - SD expects this instead of a serial.
Use SDCHECK to create your Cabrillo log, and send
it to cqirlogs@irts.ie. Please mention SD in your
soapbox comments, as this encourages others to try
it.
73,
Paul EI5DI
