The CARS (Charleston Amatuer Radio Society) sent me information on their
upcoming hamfest.
The Charleston Hamfest is Saturday, February 1, 2003.
Time: 8:30 am - 4:00 pm (Dealer setup 5-9pm Friday, and after 6:30am
Saturday)
Location: Exchange Park Fairground 9850 Hwy 78, Ladson SC.
Exit 203 off I-26, College Park Road. Acres of Free Parking.
Talk-in: WA4USN linked repeater system ( 146.79- Charleston, 145.250-
Summerville, 147.045+ St. George)
Facilities: No tailgating until all tables are sold inside! Campsites
available (full hookup) at $20 per night.
Prizes: Grand Prize: $400.00, Second Prize: $200.00, Third Prize: $100.00
Prizes drawn at 2:00 pm.
Food: World-famous CARS Dogs and BBQ Sandwiches
Tickets: $5.00 / adults at the door, additional prize tickets are $1 each
or 6 for $5. Children under 12 admitted free.
Activities: FORUMS (ARRL, Natural Disasters, etc), BINGO for spouses and
harmonics.
VE Exams: On site. Testing to begin at noon.
