Hello everyone:

Thanks for all the QSOs. Hope everyone enjoyed SS CW.

I had a lot of cockpit trouble this year and got behind early. I tried
hard to catch up, but doubt I got into the top ten as I have in my
preveious efforts from W4AN.

All of the bands seemed good. I could run a bit on 15 on Sunday
afternoon, which gave me a chance to check 20 for new QSOs with the
second rig.

Had some trouble learning how to use Bill's new contest rig, a TS870.
We were unable to get it working with band control from the computer, so
I had to make that change manually on the computer as well as manually
changing the antenna band selector box. As usual, Bill's station worked
very well.

The two sections worked were VY1 and KL7, both on 10 meters late Sunday
afternoon and both very weak. I did hear VY1JA stronger later in the
evening. I'd think NL might be a rarer section. VO1HE and one other
VO1 called me on Sunday, both with very low numbers. My KL7 mult was
KL7. I heard KL7WV S&P on 20 toward the end of the contest, but didn't
hear KL7XX, who was reportedly very active. MT was my last US
multiplier, and I worked only three MT stations. I must have worked
more MS stations in this contest than ever before. Hooray for whoever
got out the activity there.

At one point on Sunday morning, I was only 30 QSOs ahead of W5WMU being
operated QRP by N6TR! I haven't seen Tree's claimed score yet, but I'd
not be surprised if his score was high enough to be in the top ten for
high power!

Here is the result off the computer:

24 hours.

K4BAI at W4AN. SOABHP SECC

160 0
80 65
40 527
20 569
15 110
10 54

ALL 1325 x 80 = 212,000.

73,

John, K4BAI.
