Below is my report to 3830 reflector on NAQP SSB last weekend. I
couldn't get the antenna to resonate through the tuner on 160. Don't
know what the problem is. Also, have not yet hooked up the DVK that I
bought in December. Need to do that for voice contests, as my voice
won't hold out as long as it did when I was younger.
Michigan QRP Contest:
17 x 14 = 518 2.0 hours. Very little activity whenever I listened
during this once popular contest.
Flying Pigs QRP Club Sprint:
39 x 28 + ____. 1:58 hours. Didn't realize that complex computing
required to determine the score and don't have that log with me at the
office. Activity was way down from previous FP events. I know we were
supposed to be on the verge of bad band conditions. However, except for
the to-be-expected long skip on 20 and 40, band conditions seemed
perfectly good to me. Operated all contests SO2R, but had some kind of
a computer/SO2R box/logging program problem during Mi QRP contest that
kept shutting the computer down. Disconnected the box and it worked OK.
Then set it all up again for FP and it worked for two hours flawlessly.

Maybe I'll
get
my DVK working by next phone contest. Thanks for all the QSOs. 73, John.
Couldn't get the antenna to load on 160 M for some reason. Maybe
something has
happened to the antenna tuner.
