Irish Contest Set to Light Up the Bands
- Special QSO Party to mark 75th anniversary of Irish Amateur society
- Participating stations entered into a draw to win a trip to Ireland
Dublin, 10th September 2007 ? IRTS, the Irish national society,
reminds all operators that its international contest, CQIR, takes
place on the weekend of 29th/30th September from 1200 to 1200UTC.
More of a QSO Party than a contest, this is a unique event where
everybody in the world can work everybody. CW and SSB are encouraged
on 10m, 15m, 20m, 40m and 80m. A special event station, EI75IRTS,
will be activated from Cork and Dublin.
Operators with Irish heritage have a special exchange to use, so make
sure you check out the IRTS website, www.irts.ie, to find yours.
Every 75 QSOs you make will earn you an entry into a free draw to win
a week long holiday for two people in Ireland, including flights from
anywhere in the world.
So, whether you have Irish genes or not, join in the fun and help the
IRTS celebrate its 75th anniversary. You never know, you might just
win that trip to Ireland!
