My last round of comments:
1. The qso was made...even though you operated outside your band privileges
2. The qso was confirmed via internet email
3. You could claim Zero points for the qso and still keep it in the
log..by editing the cabrillo file after the contest.
4. My biggest concern here is this one that I am about to make....a
few years back a couple of the 'big-Gun' M-M's came under fire because
they were not logging
domestic(stateside) calls. I have always told my op's here that we
will log all callsigns of all qso's...period. The other station be
stateside or what ever, might just need
your zone of country mult on that band.
5. The penalty for unverifiable qso's might be a silly rule, but it
exists, is in the rules, and is applied equally to all.
6. Sure the log of my station is MY log and I can put whomever I want
in it or out of it. But when I enter a contest and then submit my log,
I agree to
the rules the contest sponsor has posted.
7. My post contest massaging of the log only consists of correcting
known typos...everything else stays in the log and the chips fall
where they may!
8. Had you not pursued an internet confirmation and thus involved the
other party, brings into play another level of ethics. I do not think
is is ethical to confirm
a questionable qso via that means...kinda like 'did we really work the
ZL8X on 160m? Lets send and email and see if we are in his log....not
supposed to happen.
