I used a FT-757GXII for 3 years and worked tons of DX on it. Great older
rig, and I had absolutely no problems at all.
You can find them for around $350.00 in good shape.
I guess if you ask 10 hams a question, you get 10 different answers. :)

Rig needs to be a reliable model that can be serviced easily if needed.
I'd like to get something a bit better, in the $1000 range, but it
