Using old KAM here and have never had any problems.
I have the following:
PACKET PORT = SERIAL 3
EIGHT BIT PACKET PORT = TRUE
PACKET BAUD RATE = 4800
PACKET BEEP = FALSE
PACKET SPORTS = ALL
PACKET SPOT EDIT ENABLE = FALSE
PACKET RETURN PER MINUTE = 5
