On many soundcards (mine is AWE64) there is a connector (2 pins sticking
out of the sound card PC board) into which you can plug the speaker
output. Check your sound card documentation. Open up the computer and
find the speaker. There should be 2 wires going to the speaker. Unplug
them from the speaker and plug them into the sound card. I don't recall
if it matters which way around the plug goes. Sound card documentation
should tell you.
Works fine for me and sure beats putting my head under the desk to hear
the PC speaker while practising cw.
