Thanks to those who who made suggestions. I've tried moving all the files
to the same directory, in case it was a path problem, and booting in DOS,
but nothing works. It almost has to be something in the autoexec.bat or
config.sys files, but I'm darned if I can figure out what. If there's
anyone out there who is successfully running POST in a DOS window or
straight DOS under 98SE who would be willing to share their boot files,
that would be terrific. Maybe I can learn by example.
