Reviewing the installation instructions for the LDG tuner, it looks pretty
straightforward. Most of the connections are to plugs and jacks already
present, unlike the original TenTec / LDG Tuner for the Pegasus where you
had to unsolder the RF output coax to pass it through the tuner.
If installing a tuner is this straightforward, does anyone know why TenTec
doesn't offer a tuner upgrade for non-AT Orions? TenTec apparently expects
Orion owners to do much more involved surgery to their Orion's for the V2
sweep upgrade.
Does the TT tuner have connections to the Orion internals that the LDG unit
does not? Maybe that's why some have reported that the TenTec tuner gets a
better SWR match.
