I solved it! When I was listening on CW on a very dead band - there was the
beep - faint but audible. It got stronger when I increased the SIDETONE
LEVEL pot. The tone is now audible thru the speaker and the sidetone is
still qiuite tolerable with the earphones on!
So now I know it works and I also know how to turn it off - hi!
